By the end of this class, you’ll understand the fermentation process, the reasons we ferment foods, and key techniques for success. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll craft two classic probiotic-rich ferments to take home:
- German Sauerkraut – Traditional, tangy, and endlessly customizable
- Fermented Pickles – Crunchy, crisp and naturally brined
- Take-Home Equipment: This class includes a take-home kit valued at approximately $75, featuring two glass fermentation jars, two specialty fermentation lids, and two handmade fermentation weights crafted locally at Happy Life Pottery in Benicia, CA.
2. Fermented Probiotic Drinks
Discover the art of crafting naturally fizzy, probiotic-rich beverages right in your own kitchen! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn everything you need to confidently ferment delicious, gut-healthy drinks. Plus, you’ll make and take home:
- Kombucha – Start your own endless supply of kombucha! You’ll receive a SCOBY and starter tea, empowering you to brew your own kombucha at home for life. Say goodbye to expensive store-bought bottles and hello to unlimited, homemade probiotic goodness!
- Ginger Beer – A refreshing, naturally carbonated drink with a fiery kick.
- Tepache – A lightly alcoholic, pineapple-based Mexican ferment.
- Take-Home Equipment: This class includes a take-home fermentation kit valued at approximately $95, featuring a SCOBY, 1-gallon fermentation jar, a fermentation lid and airlock, two 32 oz glass jars, breathable lids, and plastic lids—everything you need to start making naturally fizzy and probiotic-rich drinks at home!
